Hello folks! We are Beatrice and Chiara, English to Italian translators, and we're attending our first Locjam ever, after quite a few years working side by side on several gaming projects.
We will loc you!
The team
Bea > Just a newbie doing her best. I’ve been a translator since 2017, starting with video games localization. I have always loved languages and I’m a ‘90s kid who spent most of her childhood with a Game Boy or a PS controller in her hands. These two worlds collided and… pouf, here I am!
Chiara > Playing games since commodore 64 was a thing, localizing since 2014, landed in video games localization in 2017. I’m the annoying colleague. The one who dislikes the games you love and who loves games no one ever heard of. I collect crooked animals and unusual hobbies.
Bea > 3 years ago I passed a test for an agency, and Chiara and I were chosen as the main linguists for a project. And now, I look back and I see that we’ve translated loads of words and projects together, and we did it always laughing and enjoying the process. I love how we complete each other and that I know how she’s always got my back!
Chiara > Bea already said it all. It was love at first task. So far, the longest work-related relationship I’ve ever had, hundreds of thousands of words. If we never fought so far, I guess she is just the perfect partner to have some fun with!
What brought us here?
Chiara > In my life I’m always too late or too early. Started my career in the industry right after Locjam took a pause, and never had the chance to attend one. How could I miss this? Plus, I finally get to have fun with my partner in crime without annoying deadlines, limitations, requests and usual bothers… Sky’s the limit!
Bea > Well, what can I say, I had no luck, just like Chiara. The year I had time to participate in the jam, it took a break. Now, I finally got the chance to try this cool experience and one of the people I love the most in the industry wanted to be a team with me! The planets aligned, so here we are!
For the marvelous picture, all our gratitude to a great friend and colleague, Mădă <3
